SHOCKED hotel staff were sent death threats
over reports that a former IRA terrorist was to attend an event there.
Sinn
Fein politician Martina Anderson — once dubbed "the beauty queen
bomber" — was lined up as a potential guest for a Cairde na
hÉireann
dinner dance at Glasgow's Grand Central.
But the booking sparked over 200 abusive emails and
phone calls to the venue — while staff received bullets in the post.
Bosses
called in cops before the hire was cancelled. A source said: "The hotel
employs 260 and is completely non-political. It shames the city that
staff have been threatened.
"Our absolute priority is the safety of the staff and
guests."
Anderson,
47 — caged over a 1984 plot to bomb English resorts — was to be joined
by Sinn Fein finance spokesman Pearse Doherty, 34.
Strathclyde Police said: "The matter is under
investigation."
