GORDON BROWN OUR NEW PM  - ON ISRAEL!
Surprise - surprise?

At a Labour Friends of Israel meeting in April, 2007, Brown stated: "Many of you know my interest in Israel and in the Jewish community has been long-standing... My father was the chairman of the Church of Scotland's Israel Committee. Not only as I've described to some of you before did he make visits on almost two occasions a year for 20 years to Israel – but because of that, although Fife [Scotland], where I grew up, was a long way from Israel with no TV pictures to link us together – I had a very clear view from household slides and projectors about the history of Israel, about the trials and tribulations of the Jewish people, about the enormous suffering and loss during the Holocaust, as well as the extraordinary struggle that he described to me of people to create this magnificent homeland. "

British premier stresses his pro-Israel credentials
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has appointed Israel apologists to key positions and has been at pains to reassure British Zionists of his support and affection for Israel

If anyone had harboured illusions that Britain’s new prime minister, Gordon Brown, might adopt a less biased position towards Israel than his Zionist predecessor, Tony Blair, now is the time to dispel them.

To begin with, Gordon Brown has appointed Israel apologists to key positions in his Cabinet, with arch-Zionist James Purnell heading the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, which has oversight responsibilities for the British media, including the BBC, and Douglas Alexander, a recipient of Labour Friends of Israel hospitality, taking over the Department for International Development.

In addition, Gordon Brown has appointed Simon McDonald, a former British ambassador to Israel and a man described by Israeli officials as "a true friend to Israel", as his chief foreign policy adviser.

Gordon Brown has also been at pain to stress his Christian Zionist credentials. In a speech to the Labour Friends of Israel annual fundraising dinner in April 2007, quoted by the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post, Brown described how his father, a Presbyterian preacher, had been a passionate supporter of Israel who had taken him to the Jews-only state at least twice a year for most of his adult life to show solidarity with the usurpers of Palestinian land.

and again....
Gordon Brown has recruited Sir Alan Sugar to advise him on business.
The Amstrad boss and star of BBC1's The Apprentice will sit on a special "business leaders' council" alongside other industry figures.

"I look forward to making my contribution to the business leaders' council, which will act as a consultative body to the Department of Trade and Industry," Sir Alan said.

"There has always been a difficulty in getting business leaders involved in direct government, due to a requirement for them to relinquish their various business holdings.

"I'm delighted that this newly formed business leaders' council enables myself and other business leaders to make a major contribution.

"I look forward to this new role and assisting the new prime minister as best I can."

No 10 has yet to officially announce the formation of the council.

The council will meet two or three times a year and will advise Mr Brown on whether government policy is helping or damaging Britain's competitiveness.

What would a Gordon Brown premiership mean for Britain’s Jews?

Should Gordon Brown replace Tony Blair as Prime Minister, British Jewry will have another sympathetic ear, according to wideranging inquiries by the JC.

The latest example of the Chancellor’s communal co-operation is a contribution to a social-action booklet being distributed to United synagogues for Rosh Hashanah.

In the publication, based on the book by Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks, “To Heal a Fractured World,” Mr Brown wrote: “I have been impressed by the sheer scale, breadth and strength of initiatives in our Jewish communities.”

The Chief Rabbi and Mr Brown are friends and Sir Jonathan is expected to contribute to a forthcoming collection of the Chancellor’s speeches. Mr Brown has long cultivated ties to the community, often referring to the influence of his late father, a Church of Scotland minister, who visited Israel regularly.

Next week, the Chancellor will be honoured by the Holocaust Educational Trust in recognition of his commitment to Holocaust education, having last year announced a £1.5 million grant to enable the HET to take two students from every UK secondary school to the site of the Auschwitz death camp.

He is also close to major Labour donor Sir Ronald Cohen, whose Portland Trust promotes peace in the Middle East through economic development, a belief Mr Brown clearly shares.

Oh well the beat goes on as usual......what a wonderful pro-Zionist PM we have.....AGAIN!!!!
