ENCOURAGING 4.95% FOR DAVE JONES IN TODMORDEN

Dave Jones

Dave Jones, the BPP's sole council candidate this year, standing in the Todmorden Ward of Calderdale council, received an encouraging 283 votes the first time he had fought the seat (the votes for the local elections were counted yesterday, Friday 8th May).  Turnout was unusually high due to voting for the General Election being on the same day and because of this the old parties' votes gained were much more than they received in the last election there in 2008. Next year we expect to gain a much higher percentage combined with a rise in the amount of votes received.

Well done to Dave on taking the initiative to stand and for all the hard work he put into this campaign, he's an inspiration to us all and we can only go on and upwards from here.

Below is the latest issue of Todmorden BPP's Fighting Back, hot off the presses today and being distributed across the area today and tomorrow.
