Chris Hurne supports Simon Sheppard
Eastleigh MP Mr. Chris Huhne speaks out for freedom of speech!

A somewhat liberal MP has stepped up to defend the right to freedom of speech in the UK when he was speaking about the recent arrest of an Australian professor who was / is a holocaust denier and was wanted by the Germans so when he landed on BRITISH soil last week he was arrested so he can be extradited to Germany under a controversial European Arrest Warrant. This effectively means that not only must we comply to our own English laws, we now are expected to fully comprehend, familiarise ourselves with and adhere to the laws from EVERY Country also in the EU. This is simply neither pragmatic nor ethical and the British People's Party will oppose it vehemently! Below is a letter sent his morning by the BPP National Activities Organiser to the MP Chris Huhne (Eastleigh) who seems to have a little liking for supporting the right to freedom of speech in this country: Let's see if it's for everyone!

Dear Mr. Huhne,

I write with regards to your recent foray into freedom of speech in the UK as detailed below on the BBC website in their story regarding jailed holocaust-denier Dr. Gerald Toben.

I am unsure as to whether you're aware of the recent case of a Mr. Simon Sheppard from Selby, North Yorkshire and a Stephen Whittle from Preston who were very recently forced to flee to the USA on the grounds of blatant political persecution at the hands of the English judicial system when they were the first people in the World to be found guilty of making alleged anti-semitic comments on the internet via a US based server. Mr. Sheppard and Mr. Whittle were found guilty on many charges (eleven) and on the two they couldn't decide on they had announced there would be a retrial - clearly mere oppression was not satisfactory, the English judiciary felt a few million more of tax payers money should be utilised (wasted) for the blatant obliteration of Mr. Sheppard's, Mr. Whittle's and every other UK citizen's fundamental right to freedom of speech.

Above is a link to a non-biased reporting into the case - despite persistent interest from the UK press not a word of this story has been published anywhere other than in the paper local to where Mr. Sheppard and Mr.Preston used to live. Why is this? I wrote to every solitary UK national newspaper and none even had the integrity and common decency to acknowledge my communication let alone reply. I am beginning to conclude that this situation is wholly indicative of the general state of affairs here in the UK now - unless of course the subject is anti-semitism. Then people miraculously have their interest well and truly piqued.

I would be truly alarmed by the though that an English MP truly believed we are able to enjoy the right to freedom of speech in this Country when we most certainly are not. I am truly alarmed by the rapid decline in the right to our most elementary of human rights. I will fight tooth and nail to oppose ANY legislation being impelled onto the people of this land such as that which has now seen a respected professor arrested and detained for denying the holocaust. There are only one cabal that fear the truth Mr. Huhne - liars. And I for one shall never capitulate to such abhorrent folk which is precisely why this fetid legislation which serves solely to violate my right to think and speak freely should be vanquished and opposed by all.

I hope you will give this communication your prompt attention and I shall look forward to your response at your earliest opportunity.

Kind regards.
MISS K DERMODY
