AN OPEN LETTER TO NICK
GRIFFIN FROM EDDY MORRISON
Dear Nick,
I am taking the liberty
of writing you an open letter in the certain knowledge that I am
putting myself in the dock too by doing so.
Firstly, regarding
myself. I first met you in the late 1970’s when we shared a platform
together with Joe Pearce in launching the Young National Front. I found
you both intelligent and enthusiastic and would describe you at that
time as a British Nationalist who was just starting out on the long
road to discovering the truth about the deeper meaning of our then
joint ideology. When the NF split in 1982, I went with the New National
Front and a little later was a founder member of the British National
Party, becoming its first Yorkshire Regional Organiser.
To be fearfully honest, my impatience then got
the better of me and whilst in London I let John Tyndall down (I was
then running the Young BNP in London), and launched the short lived
National Action Party – though I NEVER changed one jot of my principles
in doing so; looking back this was a mistake, but was rectified that we
wound up the NAP and its members returned to the BNP rapidly. For the
eighties and nineties I spent my time bringing up a family back in
Yorkshire but all the time supporting JT and the BNP, as Yorkshire
Organiser and as a national speaker travelling many miles over the
years to the BNP – until your ascension to leadership, the vast policy
changes you then brought in and my being squeezed out because I would
not go along with the dropping of repatriation from the party agenda.
On this note I would call to mind the fact that my last speech was to
the home Branch of your number two man – Tony Lecomber at his Redbridge
BNP branch when I finally realised the extent of your conspiracy, not
just against John Tyndall, but also against the very raison d’etre of
the BNP.
Tony Lecomber had my
friendship for many years, which included putting him up at my family
home many times, and taking him on family outings – his repayment after
I would not go along with your new way? The spreading of the most
abysmal lies about myself; just in the way he repaid John Tyndall who
took him back into the BNP after his release from prison, with betrayal
and vituperation. However, this is not about Mr.Lecomber or me but
about your own activities Nick, though I have to add your choice of
him, as your chief hatchet man does not rebound well upon you.
Since you took over the
BNP from its Leader and Founder, John Tyndall in 1999, you have had
more than five years to put the BNP firmly on the map and carry on the
rapid growth, which was already taking place under JT’s leadership. The
electoral successes would have come anyway for the White people of
Britain; had already reached the point where they were more than ready
to start electing BNP councillors. Your leadership, the so-called
“Griffin factor” has had no positive effect on the BNP, and I firmly
believe that had John Tyndall won the 1999 election, the votes and
council seats would have come rolling in anyway –but in even greater
numbers!
There are many things I
could say about your stewardship of the BNP, but these are and have
been said by many other people. What gets to me most is that the BNP
since its inception was a party of unity and comradeship. We were a
united family of White Nationalists who apart from the odd misfit,
fought together in a great army of workers who were struggling round
the clock to make the BNP the real threat to the System that it should
and can be. What we have now is a Party split almost down the middle
because of your poor leadership, highly dubious decisions and the
continual witchhunt and expulsion from the BNP of anybody who would
criticise you. John Tyndall has thrown down the gauntlet for leadership
for the BNP in a correct and honest fashion – your reaction? To ban him
and Richard Edmonds from speaking at meetings and now to suspend Mr.
Tyndall pending his almost certain expulsion from the party he founded
(his second expulsion!), so he could no longer mount a challenge.
Nick, how can you live
with yourself after this rank dishonesty to John Tyndall who took you
in to a party in 1996, previous to which you had spent most of your
time in a variety of groups and where you spent your time constantly
running down the BNP. When you found that it was going somewhere, you
applied to join the BNP (14 years after it was founded and contributing
nothing in all those years but negative attacks on it). You were given
a responsible position editing Spearhead with a salary, and we backed
you up to the hilt, all during your trial under the Race Act, which I
acknowledge was unfair and in which you did acquit yourself with
courage. That courage you must now call upon again Nick. The BNP is not
at the moment a party of winners but a party, much like the Communist
party under Stalin in 1930’s Russia when fear and expulsions ruled and
the cult of the personality “Leader above all” rules instead of honest
and frank debate about policy and tactics, together with long term
strategy.
Nick, use your
commonsense now and do the ONE thing you can do to save the BNP and
reunite all the forces of White Nationalism under one banner. Resign
now from the leadership of the BNP. Admit your mistakes as many of us
have had the sense to admit ours. You will regain respect if you return
to the principles of White Nationalism, which I thought we once shared.
I speak for myself but I am sure that a new leadership of the BNP would
NOT conduct a witch hunt of your current supporters, but would put this
silly opportunist experiment behind us and get on with winning back a
future for our race and our nation in the limited time we have
available – and time Nick is fast running out for us all!
