The Bramley election leaflet is now at the printers. A4 size on glossy paper in two colours it’s a real eye catcher. For those following the campaign we reprint the text below. Many thanks to those who have sent in donations to cover printing costs. £260 raised since Thursday!

The Bramley campaign as seen over 2000 pre-elections leaflets go out already and the Reds did the BPP a great favour by also leafleting the entire ward with anti-BPP leaflets. Cheers “comrades”! So everyone in Bramley is aware of the BPP’s arrival. Text of election address:-

Let me introduce myself to you - the voters of Bramley and Stanningley. My name is Eddy Morrison; I am fifty-six years old and live in the West Leeds area. For many years I lived in Bramley and know the area, its people and its problems well. I believe in my country and my own race and nation - unpopular politically incorrect views? Yes, to the Old Gang politicians who are ever busy lining their own pockets and who you only see when they want your vote! To me they are common sense beliefs which are fathers and grandfathers fought and died for! If you vote for me you will be telling them when you mark your 'X' next to my name that you are fed up with the corrupt and rotten old system and that a wind of change is starting. A wind of change which will show the true British people of the Bramley and Stanningley Ward will no longer put the same tired New Labour mob back in charge of your area, but instead will show their true love for their area and their country by electing me to Leeds City Council on May 4th. The very future of our children is at stake - and only the touch no nonsense policies of the BPP - Putting BRITONS First - can halt the destruction of our once great nation! Give the System a shock - vote BPP!

SINCE its foundation the BPP have campaigned to stop the vast number of Asylum Seekers and illegal immigrants who are flooding into our country. I, your candidate am very concerned that Britons in Bramley and Stanningley are suffering as our already strained Social Services are buried under a mass of claimants from every part of the globe. The great majority of them are NOT genuine Asylum Seekers but 'economic refugees' - in other words people who are not under any threat in their own countries but are heading for Britain seeing it as a soft-touch country that will house, feed, clothe them and give them free benefits all at the expense of the hard pressed taxpayers of Great Britain. I am standing for a total end to immigration and as a start the immediate sending back of all fake Asylum Seekers and illegal immigrants. There are an estimated 500,000 illegal immigrants in Britain! That's besides the millions of other immigrants already living here. The situation is way out of control and only the strictest and toughest Immigration policy - the BPP policy of stopping immigration and starting repatriation can solve the problem!

Vote in a  Labour, Lib-Dem or Conservative Candidate, or anyone else who is boringly familiar, as your Councillor and old habits will get you old results.  Vote Morrison and you vote for Change...real change of the sort which WE know YOU want.

 

For several months now, only the BPP (the British People’s Party) and its National Organiser, Eddy Morrison, have, on YOUR behalf, publicly asked what is happening at Bramley Shopping Centre? Even before our doorstep canvassing confirmed local anger about the Centre, we were campaigning, on the BPP website and in locally-compiled and targeted leaflets, against the changes underway there.

 

The BPP alone has exposed outrage over the new Bramley Shopping Centre leases which forced some popular traders to close up shop. Other traders could close soon. Even if new tenants are found, the higher rents we revealed will mean extra costs being passed on to already-grumbling shoppers. On our website and leaflets the BPP has asked: Is the Centre closing or being improved? Is it earmarked for redevelopment as commercial offices or expensive, private flats? Or will we have a centre too expensive for we shoppers to afford?

 

The BPP recently issued local Labour MP, Mr. John Battle, a challenge: to confront the Centre owners and to publicly speak up for his local shoppers. He has failed to do so. Our locally-compiled website article on the subject, in contrast, was published by an international Internet news agency. Yet New Labour’s MP in Bramley and Stanningley Ward still offers no public defence of his own constituents! The Council, he says, does not own the Centre and cannot interfere in how it is run. So much for New Labour in Bramley and Leeds. So much for Democracy.

 

Bramley and Stanningley Ward has thousands of low-income families with children. Many are single parent families. John Battle says that this Ward has almost 15,000 senior citizens. How have these struggling locals coped with the loss of a butcher’s shop and a hardware store, with the transfer of Morrison’s to Somerfield and the resultant higher prices? How will they and others cope as Centre rents and prices continue to rise?

 

Bramley Shopping Centre’s owners should remember that we live and shop here. Our Council Tax pays for the utility services, the emergency services and the policing support from which the Centre owners benefit. We, too, pay for the road networks and the public transport services which bring thousands of shoppers to the Centre. The people of Bramley and the BPP in Bramley therefore demand answers from Bramley Shopping Centre’s owners. We demand to be part of and to influence the discussion process, to keep our popular traders, to be heard and to have our views acted upon.

 

Unlike Tony Blair in far-off Westminster, Mr. Battle is the man who supposedly carries the political can for the householders and shoppers, the workers and voters of Bramley and Stanningley. Over and over, however, he and local Labour Councillors have ignored the Voice of the People in this area. In spite of this, New Labour’s local MP and his City Council cronies have somehow, until now, survived in office.

 

Having consistently ignored the Bramley Shopping Centre issue, around which Eddy Morrison and the BPP are now attracting such growing support, Labour's City Hall will, in the 04 May 2006 municipal elections, discover the price of that deafness. Their arrogance will have provoked rebellion by their angry and abandoned Council Tax payers and their former voters will, like YOU, be listening to and voting for Eddy Morrison and the BPP.
