Seafront to turn pink
as Brighton Council panders to queers!
Brighton the Pink Capital of Britain wastes council money
Thousands of light bulbs will be used to turn a seafront pink to
celebrate the UK's biggest gay festival.
About 5,000 bulbs will be installed above the promenade between
Brighton's two piers by road maintenance company Colas to mark the
city's annual Pride festival.
Work will begin on Monday and the lights will be glowing pink from
August 5 to 7.
Brighton and Hove city councillor Paul Elgood, chairman of Brighton and
Hove's equalities forum, said: "Last year's lighting of the Pavilion in
pink for Pride drew national attention and this builds on that success.
"There can be no better symbol for the city in Pride week than to light
our seafront in pink.
"Pride has become one of the city's most important events and the
lighting will complement the parade."
