THE PRICE OF LABOUR 'SOCIALISM'

Letter just published in the "Burnley Express"

Dear Sirs,
May I respond to a letter penned by New Labour's Coun. Peter Kenyon in last Friday's Express, where I believe he shot himself in the foot not once but several times in his attempts to haul Coun Sharon Wilkinson over the coals for a letter she had publsihed the previous week.
Coun Kenyon openly admits in his letter that terraced houses in Burnley have been abandoned because they have little value and that first time buyers do not wish to but them.
This, he says, is because absentee landlords let them to undesirables who care nothing for their surroundings. Has this whole scenario not been created by Coun Kenyon and his party in allowing our taxes to be used as housing benefit to fund this state of affairs? Is this not the fault of Coun Kenyon and his party for not prosecuting such landlords for not keeping their properties in order?
Does Coun Kenyon, in his wriggling about, not show himself up in his insincere attempt to get himself off the hook in his contradiction that the council and the police have been, to quote his words, "successful" in tacling a problem which everyone with eyes to see knows is getting worse not better.
He says we need new secondary schools without telling us in detail why! He thinks the solution to drug addiction is to open drug centres in our community and to give free needles to addicts when what we should be doing is hanging the people who are selling these evil substances.
In this letter I believe he unwittingly set out and summarised his and his own party's political philosophy which is - rights without responsibility, crime without punishement and financial reward for no effort - in a word  "Socialism".
Mr.Steven Smith, Cliviger.

(Steve was the founder of the Burnley BNP, and though no longer a member of that party was the main architect of its electoral breakthrough - the biggest Nationalist electoral success ever - in the UK)
