London,
April 7th 2009:
POLICE IGNORE THE PUBLIC DISPLAY OF FLAGS SUPPORTING A 'PROSCRIBED ORGANISATION' ![]() A Tamil spokesman talks to the press as his supporters wave supposedly illegal flags Today
in London, hundreds of people of Sri Lankan origin held an illegal
demonstration in
support of the Tamil Tigers
(The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam). These people were displaying
large flags and banners bearing the symbol of the Tamil Tigers. Police
made five arrests.
We hear what you say, these immigrant groups are forever demonstrating on our streets supporting some cause in the countries they originate from, big deal, nothing new. Yes, but the Tamil Tigers are listed as a proscribed organisation (see the list below, number 25) and it is illegal to be seen "wearing clothing or displaying a symbol suggesting support for a banned organisation" under current anti-terrorism legislation. We do not know why the five Tamil supporters were arrested, whether it was for displaying 'terrorist symbols' or not but there were dozens of illegal flags being flown on that demonstration and there were hundreds of police officers on duty so why wasn't EVERYONE who was carrying a Tamil Tigers flag arrested? ![]() Compare this with the action taken against BPP members in London on March 22nd 2008 when two BPP activists were found to be in possession of - not displaying or distributing - a few badges 'suggesting support for a banned organisation'. These badges, featuring the symbols of the UDA and UFF, were each no larger than 1cm in diameter. The names on the badges were so small you would need a magnifying glass to read them. Yet the two BPP members in possession of these badges were arrested as well as their three companions who were accompanying them on their way to a perfectly legal BPP meeting. Yet again London Police have been soft on non-White activists whilst coming down hard on pro-White dissidents. We are definitely now second-class citizens in our own country! ![]() ONE
