DAVE JONES RECEIVES 5.5% OF THE VOTE IN TODMORDEN

Dave Jones (BPP) and Chris Jackson (NF) after the count

Dave's 203 votes received in yesterday's Calderdale Council election in the ward of Todmorden was less than we expected but a rush by the general public to vote for the Labour Party and the intervention of a popular local independent candidate meant Dave received less votes than expected but 5.5% was still good. Turnout was 43% in Todmorden this year, last year the turnout in the ward was 65% so Dave did very well.

Dave also stood in the Stansfield Ward of Todmorden where he received 152 votes, 8% of the votes cast. Chris Jackson of the National Front received 109 votes in the same ward. Dave and Chris were not fighting against each other, there were three council seats available and all electors had three vottes each.
