![]() The Bishop of London, one Richard Chartres, has added insult to injury of Britain's 2.4 million unemployed by stating that those who have lost their job have received a "blessing in disguise". This comes shortly after the Church of England voted to ban BNP members from the clergy and also voted to support an amnesty for every asylum seeker in Britain. Bishop Chartres, whose job is not under threat because of the downturn, is paid £57,040 a year. However, he does not have to pay a mortgage. The bishop and his family live in a house that was refurbished for him by the CofE at a cost of £300,000 in 1995. We suggest you email or telephone the Bishop and make him fully aware of the terrible economic crisis engulfing Britain and that his outrageous comments are insulting Britain's desperate army of unemployed workers.
