WARNING TO THE ULSTER PEOPLE!

Your right to FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE is about to be violated.

On Friday 24th November, while all eyes in Northern Ireland were focussed upon the events at Stormont, at Westminster the Government laid its new SEXUAL ORIENTATION REGULATIONS

Among other things, these new regulations will:

• Allow a family-run B&B to be sued if it refuses on conscience grounds to rent out a double room to a homosexual couple.
• Allow an aggrieved pupil to sue a school for harassment if a teacher taught in an RE lesson or an assembly that the Bible says that sexual activity is only for heterosexual marriage.
• Allow two lesbians to take legal action against a Christian-run old people's home that refuses to give them a married couple's room.
• Allow a Christian Magazine to be sued if it refuses to take an advertisement from a so-called 'gay Christian' group. The legal costs alone could bankrupt the Christian publishers.

There is much more to be concerned about!

We strongly object to legislation which forces people to act against their conscience. We strongly urge the Government to withdraw the regulations and consult with people in Northern Ireland about how to properly respect their religious beliefs.

If you value FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE write to:

The Prime Minister, The Rt Hon Tony Blair MP, 10 Downing Street, London SW1A 2AA.

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, The Rt Hon Peter Hain MP, Northern Ireland Office, Stormont Castle, Belfast BT4 3TT.

Insist that the regulations be withdrawn until the concerns of Christians in Northern Ireland have been addressed.
